Invalid serial number

Hello everybody.

I'm about to buy a used Macbook Pro that's supposed to be mid 2015.

I asked the guy the serial number to check warranty and specs, but it appears nowhere, not in Apple support nor on apple serial info.

If it's not a typo (0 and not O checked..) what could that mean?

Can I buy it safely?
