iMac in Target Display Mode = would screen saver turn on?

Hello,

This is my ideal home computer setup:

MacBook Air in clamshell / lid closed > Thunderbolt cable > iMac 2013 in Target Display Mode

Would the iMac use the screen saver + 'turn off display' settings from the MacBook? Or would it behave according to the iMac's own settings?
