how do I change the apple id associated with a laptop or ipad?

I am separating my Apple account from an account that was previously shared by the whole family but cannot figure out how to configure my laptop and iPad with my new Apple ID

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Sign out from iCloud, iTunes Store and/or App Store with the old password and log in with the new ID.
