Q: how to zync phone number with apple ID for IMS and text messages

I'm sending text messages and IMS using iphone5 but they all are going out with my email address instead of my phone number. I've tried to change it in settings but the phone number is grayed out and I cannot select it.

Greetings guanacasa,

To make your phone number available for use for iMessage you will need to associate your phone number with your Apple ID. Use the steps in this article - iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage.
