OS X older versions

I'm having trouble completing a download of OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. My current system is only 10.9.5. Is it possible to download an older OS X version, or am I limited to the newest one?

First, describe exactly what trouble you've had. Second, did you try downloading the 5.7 GB installer or the smaller updater file? It is only possible to download Yosemite to upgrade from Mavericks. You can still buy Mountain Lion but installing it would require first repartitioning and erasing your hard drive.

If you are actually running 10.4.11 then you cannot even access the Mac App Store which requires installing Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Second, you have posted your topic in the wrong forum.
