My iPod classic won't sync with latest version of iTunes

I have 4K plus songs on my classic but with a new computer with Windows 10 and the latest version of iTunes, iTunes won't "upload" the music from the iPod. A warning box appears asking: "are you sure you want to remove all the data from your device".....What gives?
