Itunes 12.2.2 messed up my Apple USB drive. Anyone having this problem?

I downloaded the 12.2.2 update and after it finished I was not able to sync my ipod. It states that latest update messed up my Apple USB drive. I have tried the instructions to uninstall and reinstall ITunes and it does not fix the issue. Any suggestions???
