Recently updated my iPod

I recently updated my iPod touch 5 and for some reason now when I go to iTunes to download my previously purchased music it says "you have no purchased music to download" so what happened? Did I loose all of my music or can I just not download it from a mobile device?

Is iCloud and iTunes on the iPod signed into the ID/account that purchased them?

There is time period associated with change ID for redownloading. See:

iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID

If on a computer are the purchases listed in iTunes>Store>View accounts>Purchase history?
