Recently updated my iPod

I recently updated my iPod touch 5 and for some reason now when I go to iTunes to download my previously purchased music it says "you have no purchased music to download" so what happened? Did I loose all of my music or can I just not download it from a mobile device?

iPod touch, iOS 8.4.1
