Wiped MacBook Air, now iTunes won't copy purchased music from iPhone

My wife was having problems with her Macbook Air, so we wiped it clean and installed the latest OS. Now she wants to back up the music on her iPhone to the laptop, but it's thinking it's a new computer and won't copy over her purchased music. Help?

The iPhone is not a backup device. iTunes syncs one way only, and that is from iTunes to the iOS device. If you wanted a backup of your music library, you would have needed to do that before you wiped the device. Were you using Apple's backup? If so, you can restore from there. If the music is all purchased music from iTunes, you can redownload it from your purchases. If not, you will need a 3rd party utility to get the music from the iPhone onto the computer.
