Why are some mp3 files ineligible for icloud music library?

I have a number of mp3 files that were legitimately downloaded from another website, that play Ok in Itunes but for some reason they a re inelgible ofr the Apple Icloud music library - result is I can't create a playlist that will sync with my Iphone 6.

Help please some wise head 🙂

Use iTunes to make an AAC/256 version.

The matching function has a few criteria that cause it to reject a file, such as bitrate too low, or file size over 200 MB. If the problem is not one of those, it is probably some minor corruption that is tripping up iTunes. That usually goes away if you do a conversion to create a fresh new AAC file.
