Is it ok if I charge the iPod 5th gen with a 5V-2A charger?

Hi ! So I lost my iPod adapter. I still have a wire but I don't have any other apple adapters. I have one that is 5V-2A but I know the iPhone and iPod need 1 A. I also read that the device draws the amount of power that it needs so the A's don't matter.
Thank you !

iPod touch, iOS 8.4

I safely use my iPad charger, 5 v, 2.1 A, with my iPhone all the time. Easier to carry one charger that works for both.

The important question, is this a high quality charger? The knockoff chargers tend to be very inaccurate and spikes in their power which is damaging.
