Moving iTunes Library from One Internal Drive to Another

I ran out of space on the iMac's HD. So, I followed the instructions to change the location to HD2. No problems. I consolidated the files, changed the location to which to store new purchases. It's all working fine.

But do I now need to physically copy the old media folder over to the new location, and wipe the old location?

I just need to free up that 30GB of disk space.

I think it likely you relocated only where media are stored which is not the same as your entire library. No matter, things seem to be working. The cautious would at this point make a backup of their computer before moving the old media folder to the trash and emptying the trash. That way if any surprises happen you are in a position to restore your files, figure out what went wrong, and try again.
