Toolbar has disappeared

I have a MacBook Pro retina display, 2.7 GHz. My toolbar disappeared and I cannot select "Always show Toolbar" from the View drop down menu. How do I resolve this?

If the window is in Full Screen mode, "Always Show Toolbar" will be grayed out.

Move the mouse pointer to the top of the screen, when the Toolbar drops down, click the green button.

The window will return the normal size.

Drag the lower right corner of the window to resize the window to resize the dimension you prefer.
