Anyway to recover images from inside applications?

Hi,

so to add a bit more detail, I am just trying to recover some old photos and videos from my old ipod touch, (3rd gen I believe), and have already taken all the photos and videos I wanted off the camera roll, however, I was wondering if there was anyway to open up an application to see what's inside? The reason for this is that I had an app called snapsave, I was just about to delete it, as I'm de-cluttering it, then realised there's quite a lot of photos and videos from that I'd like to recover, however, I cant open the application as it crashes straight away, so I'm not sure if my photos are still there, is there anyway to see inside of it? I presume the photos must be stored somewhere on the ipod, but of course apple dont like you poking around files, is there anyway around this? Any help/advice would be appreciated.
