Page number info missing in this version

Page number info missing in this version

In Pages 09 one use to be able to see the word count or page number info down at the bottom of the screen. Now in this version, that info is missing. I know you can add a word count, put is there a way to add page number info without physically adding the page number to your document. I just want to know what page I'm on so that I can print that single page out, but don't want any page number to appear on the printout.

MacBook Pro 2.66 i7 "17 inch, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 4 gb ram

Hi Anthony,

Pages 5.

Menu > View > Show Page Thumbnails.

That will show the page number as you scroll through your document. Thumbnails do not print.

Thank you, Ian. Yes, I've been doing that but it used to be so convenient to click down at the bottom and toggle between character, word count, and page count. Apple once again leaves me befuddled. Why do their updates often take away so many useful features?

Thank you, Yellowbox, but the drop-down is only showing the amount of pages in the document, rather than the page that you are currently on. I swear this was different in Pages 09. Anyway, appreciate your efforts to help!

This is how I think of "Page number of # Pages" in Pages 5:

For your next trick, drag the Word Count box around your document.

Pages v5 (all releases) is not based on Pages '09, and is an entirely different application that Apple omitted considerable Pages '09 functionality. Other than thumbnails, or adding page numbers to the document itself, there is no passive page number reference displayed anywhere.

Thank you for confirming, VikingOSX. Unfortunately, another in a long list of Apple mistakes. They are losing me but they probably don't care, as they are really just a phone company now anyway.
