okay so i found a really cool ringtone and i followed steps in order to get it on my iphone. It wouldnt work until i found out i had to change the import setting to AAC Encoder in the Peferences tab on Itunes. So obviously i did, but it still wont show " Create AAC version" when i right- click on the tune.
I tried for hours to look for an answer on many different website, but i cant find a solution.
Can anyone help me?

Right-click, Get Info, go to the File tab, and read the "kind."
okay well it says "MPEG audio file"

That means it is an MP3, so it should convert readily.
Did you validate that the Import Preferences Have Import Using set for AAC Encoder, as shown?
as you can see, this what appears when i right-click on the tune. and this after i've validated the Import Preferences.
If you right-click, Get Info, and look at the Options tab, what is the value for Media Kind?
It says Music. The other options are Podcast, Itunes U, AudioBook, and Voice Memo.

Sorry, I cannot reproduce the problem and am out of ideas. If you happen to have a third party converter on your computer (such as Switch) you can use it to do the conversion, and add the AAC back into iTunes.
AAC Enconder still wont show?
