Q: No AirPlay
I have an Apple TV v.2+ and a MBP but my MBP is from mid-2009 running Mavericks. Therefore, airplay on apple tv cannot find it. Is there a way to view my computer on my tv screen? In other words, how can I use my TV as a monitor wirelessly with a mid-2009 MBP running Mavericks? Is there an alternative to AirPlay when one's laptop is old(isn)? Thanks so much.

buy new mac, there no airplay mirroring for your mac
but you can stream video from your mac to appletv using airparrot
edit: looks like airparrot 2 can airplay mirroring from older macs
