Close Safari by double tapping the home button and then swipe up on and off the screen the Safari thumbnail preview. Tap the home button. Restart your device by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
You are fine, but going through these steps will clear Safari completely.
