My watch says that I am exercising even when the watch is on the charger. how do i fix this issue

My apple watch says that I am exercising even when my watch is on my desk charging overnight.

I have tried the 20 minute outdoor un to recalibrate the watch but this has not made any difference.

How do I get this function to work correctly

Apple Watch, watchOS 1.0.1

Hi

Check that there isn't a workout in progress via the Workout app - if there is, force press on any screen within the app or swipe left / right to the pause / end buttons and end it.

Also enable Wrist Detection on your iPhone via the Apple Watch app: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection - on

Then try restarting (or, if that doesn't work, force restarting) your Apple Watch:

Restart Apple Watch: Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; Drag the slider to turn off completely; Afterwards, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Force restart: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
