CNN / Prize Bay scam

On 15 August 2015, I was sent a link regarding CNN reporting that UK customers were being offered an Apple iPhone 6 128gb for £6.95 - as the sceptic I am, I thought it too good to be true but decided to give it a go ..... £6.95 is not a lot to lose after all.

The link for sign up took me to a company called Prize Bay (an American auction site) that signed me into an account and put 51 credits in that account for bidding. Without explanation, I did wonder if I had to bid on the item, but this was not an option - they didn't have any iPhones on the auction! I sent them an email as this was obviously not what I was signed up for but did not receive a reply regarding this - I did however, receive a message from them stating that I had "won" the item (with an order code) but they were waiting for further stock to be able to send out my win and that it could take 7-14 business days to receive : that was 14 business days ago ..... I have emailed them with no reply and funnily enough have not received my won iPhone!!

When you go back on the site all the reviews that are there have change times to seem as if they were posted 2 hours ago etc so I tried to add a review - I got sent to the Prize Bay sign up, I tried clicking on a Facebook person, got redirected to the prize bay sign up .... Etc etc.

I have even tried contacting Apple about this scam but you can only speak to Apple if you pay for customer service ....!!!!

£6.95 is not a lot of money for me to lose which is why we "chanced it" and obviously if this was a win it would have been well worth it to me as a 128gb unlocked Apple iPhone 6 is worth approx £700+ but if everyone that pays for this scam gets the same as I have done they are fraudulently stealing a lot of money from people.

Let's say 100,000 people sign up for this "scam" - that is a steal of £695,000.00 : that's a good return for the company isn't it : are they sharing this between the companies involved ...????
