Q: I've just upgraded my broadband hub. Everything going well however 'airplay' has disappeared from wife's ipad mini. We've checked everything as instructed by apple manuals etc. Can anyone help? Many thanks

I've just upgraded my broadband hub. Everything is working fine with all my apple devices but 'airplay' has disappeared from my wife's ipad mini so she cannot connect with my apple tv. We have double checked all connections and wifi settings etc as instructed by all the manuals but to no success. Can anyone suggest a solution? Many thanks if so.

for airplay to work you need to open the ports if the new router is default or forced to be on lock down and don't allow for ports
TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products - Apple Support

443, 554, 3689 and 5353

all relates to airplay

Many thanks Rudegar! Problem seems to be sorted. Seems daft but I just rebooted my hub and airplay came back. Obviously new hub teething problems. I'll store your response in case problem returns.
