Only photos edited in the Apple Photos app are are in your Photos library.

If you edited a photo in another program then you must have saved it elsewhere on your Mac.

I just updated my OS X (after it froze my computer and almost crashed it). So this new Photos instead of iPhoto works  alittle differently. I used to edit in Photomatix, save in iPhoto, and then I was given the option of what folder to put it in. Now when I save it in Photos I can't find it even when I search the title.

There's no way to access image files in a Photos library to edit with a 3rd party editor.  You need to export the photo to the Desktop, edit it there with your editor of choice, save to the Desktop and import back into Photosl

So you need to check where the Save function in Photomatrix is saving to.  Often if you do a Save As the Save window will show you where its default location is.

Thanks Old Toad for your help. I ended up saving it on the desktop and dragging it into the folder I wanted it in (In Photos). This is such a pain compared to the previous iPhoto option.
