Are you logged in to the same Apple ID on both machines?

Are both machines on the same network?

Thanks Drew, I was finally able to make the "home sharing" connection. I found the procedure on iTunes Help page

Use Home Sharing to import items from another iTunes library

Unfortunately when I shut the G5 off the shared tunes disappeared off my IMac iTunes library. [I use the G5 it has a CD/DVD reader and the IMac doesn't.]
