App has no name and wont download or delete
iPad Air, iOS 8.4.1
Just tried that but it wouldn't show the X button to delete
What happens if you restart the iPad (hold power and home key together until apple logo appears (about 10 seconds)) and immediately try to delete the app after the restart, telling it to delete all data assuming you don't need that data since you don't know what the data is?
I was able to delete two apps that had the same problem: the app had a blank icon and no name from an update that failed to install, then by forcing the update from the store the icon appears, but the name never appears, and trying to delete the apps just show an alert that says: Deleting "" will also delete all of its data.
The solution for me that worked was to go into Setting » General » Usage » Manage Storage, from there I could find two rows without name, open them and pressed "Delete App". After a while the apps were uninstalled.
Try going to settings> general> usage> storage> manage storage. Wait for the full list of apps to open and look for app not on your iPad. If you find one delete it from there.
I have tried that but it won't appear.
I would restore from my back up at this point or just ignore it until I had time to restore.
Try settings> general> reset> reset home screen layout.
I will prob do that tonight. Thanks for your help
Too bad the apps don't reinstall… they get stuck at the end of download, they simply don't install the update!
