Q: One display off on a dual-display setup causes hiccup

Hi folks,

I've had this annoying bugger since I upgraded my Mid 2010 Mac mini to Late 2014 Mac mini. I'm having a dual-display setup (Acer S231HL and ASUS VH242H) and I occasionally want to shut the other display down eg. when I'm playing games, watching full screen videos or otherwise want to get rid of unnecessary disturbances.

With my old Mac mini (also having Yosemite) I had no problems on my setup, I could shut one monitor and keep using the other one without problems.

But now with my new Mac mini turning the other monitor off causes hiccups: everything else shows pretty much all right, but my mouse pointer just stops moving for a couple of seconds. Meanwhile the typing cursor blinks normally, even though letters won't appear on screen until the hiccup is over. Turning the other display back on makes everything normal again. I've so far tried to switch off either displays and both cause the same hiccup, and also disabling screen sharing.

Because this is kinda hard to explain, I made a very short video that portrays the problem:

PS: as some might notice, I've already updated to El Capitan beta, but the bug is completely the same as I had in Yosemite – so reverting to 10.10.5 won't help.

HI did u ever got this resolved ?

    I have the same issue.

Mac Mini 2014 (just got it yesterday). Connected to two monitors. One monitor is dedicated to Mac Mini. Another monitor is shared with Mac Mini and a PC. If I dual display and then switch to the PC (and hence the 2nd monitor switch to the PC), the lagging happens to my USB microsoft mouse.
