Q: What is the difference between saving Keynote to iCloud Drive or Keynote in iCloud?

What is the difference between saving Keynote to iCloud Drive or Keynote in iCloud?

When I SAVE a Keynote I can see that there are 2 options in iCloud.

One is to save to Keynote - iCloud

Second is to save to iCloud Drive.

What is the  difference?

To open on my iPad I choose option 1 but what is second option (iCloud Drive) or is it the same?

Confused since iTools :-)

Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

As far as I'm aware there is not really any major difference between saving a file inside of iCloud Keynote itself or saving it to your iCloud Drive.

    But...

When you save a file in Keynote it is also accessible from the iDrive Keynote folder.

Whereas if you save a Keynote file directly to the iCloud Dirve it is only accessible from the Drive.

i.e. you cant open it from inside iCloud Keynote.

    Hope that helps,

This is my experience too, which seems so unintuitive ... and so unlike Apple. Thank you for responding.

    No worries :-)

I really like iWorks and enjoy using it but unfortunately its just missing some key features.

Fingers crossed that will change soon when they move out of BETA....

    ....whenever that is.
