Q: apple tv does not read micro usb

my apple tv suddenly required connection to iTunes but my apple TV does not read my micro usbs. The same micro use can be read by my macbook pro when plugged to a different device.

iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1

the microUSB port in the appletv can only be used to connect it to a computer to have a crashed firmware restore
no other purpose

If you were trying to restore you would need to use a micro usb that can transfer data. If it was bundled with another device it may only be designed to work with that device. Try a different cable.
