irfanview on macbook pro

Hello,

I'm aware that there have been several threads on this issue but I can't find any recent ones. I am a Windows switcher and used Irfanview in the past. I would love to instal it on my Mac but am getting very confused and would welcome some help. My Safari version is Yosemite Version 8.0.8 (10600.8.9) and my Macbook is a Macbook Pro 9.2 (Mid 2012). Many many thanks.

PS. I'm not sure why my version of Yosemite isn't in the list of Operating systems options, they seem to start at v. 10, but when I click the Safari Apple/About Safari, it says Version 8.0.8 (10600.8.9)

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), Version 8.0.8 (10600.8.9)

irfanview seems to be a windows only app. You can install Windows on your Macbook using Bootcamp https://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/

or run windows in a virtual machine using something like Parallels http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/?src=r&pd11&gclid=CLqFk7b55McCFZU2aQod apcATw and use irfanview if you want to.

Another possible option might be GraphicConverter http://www.lemkesoft.de/index.php?id=32&L=1
