Connecting Macbook Air to JVC TV.

I'm trying to connect my Macbook Air to my TV to watch movies etc on it. Its a rather old TV but is HD ready and has

the required HDMI port. I've hooked up all of the correct wires and i've tested it on a friend's TV and it all works fine. However, my Mac will not

pick up my TV for some reason and I can't get it working. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Howdy MorseG,

It sounds like you are unable to see anything on your TV screen when you connect it to your Mac with an HDMI cable. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article that you can about such issues, named:

Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays

You want to start at the section titled "No video or no signal, image distortion, "snow," or flickering"
