Connect 2 Airport Express "in series"

Hi,

I have a wireless network generated by my Airport Time Capsule (let's call it ATC). I have extended its reach in my house with a first Airport Express (let's call it AE1). I would like to expand it further with the installation of a second Airport Express (let's call it AE2). In fact, I want the AE1 to connect (wifi) to the ATC, and the AE2 to connect (wifi) to the AE1... and I can't make it work like this... In fact, both my AE1 and AE2 connect to the ATC... Can you help?

Sorry, we can't help, and neither can Apple......since Apple's extend feature will only allow the network to be wirelessly extended one time......not two.

In other words, AE1 will extend the signal from the Time Capsule, but AE2 will NOT extend the signal again from AE1.

Both AE1 and AE2 must connect to the Time Capsule if you want both to wireless extend the network. That would mean that both AE1 and AE2 need to be about the same distance from the Time Capsule......AND.....both Expresses must be closer to the Time Capsule than they are to the other Express.

IF.....you can connect AE1 to the Time Capsule using a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection......then.....AE2 can wirelessly extend the signal from AE1. It would be much better if both Expresses connected using Ethernet cables, since this would allow you to locate both Expresses exactly where they are needed.
