Several applications not working / no error / no function

Today, The following applications simply stopped working:

ItsyCal

RightZoom

Redquits

Xtrafinder

Hyperswitch

Karabiner

Google Drive

NoSleep

Sizewell

They don't give an error, don't show up in the status bar (those of them supposed to be there), and don't do anything. Calling them directly from the finder does nothing. Calling from the terminal does nothing either (errorcode 1081). Trying to open them from the launcher does nothing. All thse applications were working just fine last time I used the computer, today they simply stopped doing so.

That so many different applications suddenly stopped working leads me to believe that it is a problem of the OS (Currently running yosemite 10.10.5 on a macbook pro).

Please advise on how to solve this issue

OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

see this article

if this does not resolve the issue check each application to see if an update is offered by the developer.

if that does not rectify the situation then it's possible Apples latest update is the cause, in which case you can consider downgrading to 10.10.4 from a time machine backup if one is available to you.

at first glance I suggest:

remove maccleaner immediately

remove culater immediately (and IMHO boycott any file providing service that bundles crap with legitimate software!)

http://www.thesafemac.com/arg-conduit/

I suggest you consider the following (and prepare for blowback on these forums for my suggestion)

https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/index.html

It is developed by a frequent contributor to these forums who I personally feel has the best interest of the mac community in mind.

Thanks again for your tips,

I did remove the cleaner, but it didn't do anything. Furthermore, I could not find the culater you mentioned, and the malware software wont run...

Luckily, it is my work computer, and I managed to convince the IT guys to get me a different laptop with a different operating system that I feel more comfortable using, which is for me the best solution to forget about all these kind of issues.

So, thanks again, and sorry for wasting your time.

not wasting my time, so no need for apology.

Your system is whacked (whack?) so if a different laptop fixes it so-be-it

one last thing I would suggest (if you want to give one last attempt) is

a) safe mode

OS X Yosemite: Start up in safe mode

b) try creating a new account with admin rights and boot to that account.

if not I'm truly glad you found a solution of some kind.
