I suspect the setup is wrong..

For instance you have bridged the TC to a bridged modem.. this will hand out one IP.. ie the one that your 12" MacBook gets and that is the end.

So you MUST have the TC in the correct operation mode.. Lets pursue that to start with.

What modem do you have?

Is it a router as well?

How is the TC setup, router or bridge?

Give me a few screenshots from the Macbook that does work of the setup.

Thank you very much my friend for your response, Im not home right, but once I get there I will send you the stuff you require... but please could you tell me how to do a screenshot on MacOS.... and also where do I see the setup of the TC.

What I can answer is that I have a cable modem, it is just a modem.

The TC is set as router... the airport express is setup as the expansion... but does´t work

Thank you very much.

When you get home I want the exact model of the modem.. all is not well in apple router land.. and they have very picky taste in modems they will link up with.

Screenshots in Mac. (I cheated.. I spent 10sec on google.. and copy and pasted the reference at the top.. google is your friend).

  • Take a screenshot of part of your screen
    1. Press Command (⌘)-Shift-4. ...
    2. Move the crosshair pointer to where you want to start the screenshot.
    3. Drag to select an area. ...
    4. When you've selected the area you want, release your mouse or trackpad button. ...
    5. Find the screenshot as a .png file on your desktop.

Post the picture here using the little camera at the top there. It will open a menu to finder to locate the file on the desktop.

Please do give me the whole .. I have given the top portion only to save space.

However these are the correct values.

I will also need to see the express and how it is setup.. as that wasn't mentioned in the first post..

Thank you very much my friend!!! It worked! Now my TC and my Express are working perfectly! Thanks a Lot... BTW I wanted to ask you one last question, which are the best cable modem to use with apple products? I aske this because I think the webstar modem that I have is not giving me the best conectivity, that is why I bought the SB6141, because it various websites said that it was the best cable modem out there. Now that you mention that SB6141 and TC are bad combo, I want something better than my webstar but that works good with my apple stuff.

Thanks a lot for your help!

What model is your TC? A1xxx from the base please.. unless you know the Gen..

If yours is Gen4 or earlier simply change it to 7.6.1 firmware and it should work ok with SB6141.. it is the later firmware and any of the AC models.

I am not in the US or on Cable.. so I really cannot tell you what modem to use.. Ubee or Zoom are ones I have heard of that seem to have less issues.

I do know the SB models have issues.. because of the sheer number of reports.. just do a google search or local search here for the problem.

Thank you very much! Im no in the States, I will google it to see the differents choices that I could have. My TC is the latest model with firmware 7.6.3.

Thank you very much for all your support!

Your TC cannot be the latest one.. 7.6.3 firmware is for Gen 1-4 only and is not the latest.. in fact it is poor firmware.. Go back to 7.6.1 to use the SB6141.

The new TC.. tall AC model uses 7.7.3 firmware.. and it is not possible to downgrade.. and no matter if you did it would still have issues.

However try it out.. there is no harm if you already have the modem in trying it.. for some people it is ok. At least for a while.
