Q: iMac G4

Thoughts please. I have an iMac G4 and am planning on putting it back to work. My daughter has started a business and this would be strictly for a Quickbooks install and possibly to email invoices to clients. What OS upgrades would be optimal for this machine? Stay with Tiger or would the "Leopards" be fine? It has always been a great machine and all of us are thrilled to put it to use again.

Thank you in advance and a great day to all --

Peter

You can upgrade to OS X 10.5 "Leopard", no later. Later OS X versions require an Intel CPU.

Finding a retail Leopard upgrade disc might be a challenge. I don't recommend devoting too much effort to that task, since Tiger will be perfectly OK. Leopard's most attractive advantage over Tiger would be Time Machine.

    John,

Thank you. I believe Tiger would be great for this use. Is there a licensing issue if I were to use a Leopard disc that I have from a Macbook that I purchased and didn't use as Snow Leopard was installed at time of purchase?

A grey System Install DVD for any other model Mac simply won't work. Stick with Tiger.
