Mac App Store stops

Every time I try to open Mac App Store it stops unexpectedly and gives the error message below (which is claimed to be sent to Apple).

I run 10.6.8 on an iMac (and look to upgrade for which I need Mac App Store...).

Any suggestion please to help me?!! Thanks a lot!!

Hey eptrading,
Sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with attempting to use the Mac App Store on your iMac. Let's see if we can get it sorted out.
I would start with testing out in a new user. Doing that will help determine if issues with the Mac App Store is something specific to your user of system wide. If it works in the new user, check for any updates while in that user and restart to see if that fixes it. Also take a look at the first article for some additional troubleshooting on software.

If it is system wide, then you will need to reinstall OS X Snow Leopard and the steps are in the pdf link below.
