Q: My iPad 's headphone jack won't let me plug my headphones in.

Hi,

I Have an iPad Air that won't let me plug my headphones in. When I try to plug them in, they don't go in all the way like they are suppose too. I was using them just yesterday. I have tried taking the case off of my iPad and checking to make sure there is no lint built up in the jack. i did notice as I was checking for lint that the white casing in the headphone jack is loose, is that the problem? Do I need to go to an Apple Store to get it checked?

iPad Air, iOS 8.4.1

    Hey Sssamantha147,

I understand that you're not able to get your headphones to plug completely into your iPad. I've outlined below the next steps to take in just such a situation.

    1. Make sure the headset is plugged in all the way. If you’re using a case, remove it to make sure it’s not getting in the way.
    2. Check the headset cable, connector, remote, and earbuds for damage. Make sure they’re not blocked or dirty.
    3. Try using another headset. If the issue happens with the other headset, contact Apple Support for help. If the other headset works, contact the headset manufacturer.

    Cheers
