Sep 8, 2015 8:47 AM in response to CalebGraysonby Lexiepex,1. incredible, I do have the exact same MBP as you as per coincidence here with me while travelling, that is where I picked the firmware version.
I conclude, it has to do with some settings (you still need the actual firmware version).

2. /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist Yes that is the one.

Sep 8, 2015 9:20 AM in response to cabakrollby Lexiepex,The system Bluetooth reports the hardware/firmware, in all accounts.
To Caleb: the SMC reset might help. Some times you have to do it twice or thrice to make it work, because these firmware bits are rather stubborn.

Sep 8, 2015 9:50 AM in response to Lexiepexby CalebGrayson, tired all the above and no dice.
although, on my 2010 MBP 13" when info an SMC reset the led on the pwer goes amber and red but on my 2012 it dodn't change. i did it like 8 times.
im wandering if I have any recourse with apple for repair or replacement or am I better off using the CAT as there'd be no advantage to a repair and I'd lose time, etc.
