Q: Adding songs from Apple Music to your device

Lately I have been wanting to add songs from Apple Music to my phone but I can no longer do that since the release of iCloud Music Library. When Apple Music was first released songs that I added to "My Music" and checked to show offline would show up on my phone. Yet since with the release of iCloud Music Library I can no longer do that. I have to turn on the Music Library in my settings to do that or even make a playlist and I don't like that. And I say that because I have been seeing a lot of bad reviews from people who have turned on iCloud Music Library, stating that the wrong album artwork is appearing on songs and sometimes even the wrong song is playing. So I have been weary on turning on that feature. I was already having the album artwork issue before all of this anyways. Has anyone had any good experiences with the iCloud Music Library? Or should they just keep that feature separate while still allowing music you add from Apple Music to appear on your device?

    Hi wvllflowxr,

I see that you want to save some songs from your Apple Music library to your iOS device. I have an article for you explaining how to do this, and it can be found below:

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

    1. In the Music app, find the item that you want to save.
    2. Tap the More Options icon   to the right of the song, album, or playlist name.
    3. Tap Make Available Offline.

Songs and albums appear under My Music > Library. Playlists appear under My Music > Playlists.

Add music from the Apple Music catalog to your library - Apple Support

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

    HI

Why all of a sudden is "my music" that I purchased on itunes and have listened to for years on my device required to be downloaded to my iphone? I do not want to stream all of my music. Are you saying I now have to make all of this "available off line" when it already was???

    Hi Braden,

I know that I can make songs available offline but now I have to turn on iCloud Music Library to do that. Before the release of iCloud Music Library I didn't have to. And I do not want to turn that feature on because I have seen people saying that said they have had problems afterwards. Thanks for your help though.
