Q: Using iPad iOS 8 and my comcast incomming and outgoing mail has stopped working.

I have a MC707LL/A 64 GB iPad running iOS 8.4.1, using Apple Mail via smtp.comcast.net with POP account information/host name imap.comcast.net

I have double checked the mail account settings and all appears to be correct, nothing that I'm aware of change but now I get an error message;

"Cannot Get Mail"

The mail server "imap.comcast.net" is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.

 

All my mail has disappeared and I'm afraid of deleting this account and loosing all my email inbox and sent history. My comcast account only saves a limited amount of the incoming mail and since I use apple mail to send or reply to my emails comcast doesn't have any of the sent mail.

 

Can anyone help me out with this?
