Sony DSR PD150 not recognised

I am using Final Cut Express version 4.0.1 to edit DV tapes through my camera. I have used my Sony DSR PD150 with FCE on previous occasions without problems but now the program does not recognise my camera. I have also tried to use iMovie, this also does not recognise my camera.

Looking through the supported camera list I see that my camera is no longer supported. Since last using my camera I have upgraded my OS to 10.9.5.

I have searched the Apple help pages without success. Updates appear to have left some important things behind and make good equipment defunct, I hope that this is not the case.

Can anyone please help resolve this problem.

Make sure that the camera's menu is set to the proper EE mode so it outputs via its Firewire (iLink) port.

In the camera menu, VCR set, I have set A/V DV to out. I can't remember ever changing this setting in the past and therefore didn't look to the camera menu to resolve the problem. Thanks David it works now.
