Why am I being asked to provide a credit card for weir fixation to update my apps that are free !?

WWhy am I being asked for a credit card to verify me to be able to update my apps I no longer have the option of none in the credit card section when asked to verify. This also happens when trying to download free apps. Can yu please fix this problem for me
