time date stamp removal in sony pxw-x70 in final cut pro x 10.2.2

Made a mistake and selected yes to the time date stamp option on my new Sony PXW-X70 camcorder. I thought it would label the files on import, not put a huge time date in the midst of all the video footage which apparently is used for legal purposes. All the imported video has it. There is not a version with it and a version without it that I can detect. Any way to remove the time date stamp in Final Cut Pro X version 10.2.2 or in the Sony PXW-X70 camcorder? Thanks.

Depending on how large the time date is, you could be hosed. Try using this:

you might be able to tweak it so that it's not terribly noticeable.

This is an Effect (if you need instructions for installation, go here: http://fcpxtemplates.com/install4fcpx/latest.htm). It was originally designed to remove watermarks.

There is an onscreen control you can use to drag the effect and center it over the date. Set the width and height to cover the region and the blur. There are other control parameters to play around with. Work with them until the effect nearly disappears (with the object you're trying to remove.)

A timestamp can be disguised using Fox's suggestions, or cropped out using scale and pan'n'scan techniques, but the stamp's numerous pixels are permanently burned into the video and they cannot be removed.

There are many things about your camera you probably should study carefully before your next shoot. Take the manual to the gym with you and settle in for a few hours.
