How to reset system preferences
Hey, I've a problem about turning off dark mode, and I want to reset my system preferences to solve it. Is there any possibility to do it using Terminal?
Thanks a lot

can you describe exact problem with dark mode?
Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application, and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.
The problem is that when I turn off the option that actives dark mode, in general settings, it doesn't make any response. I've tried to uninstall f.lux app, but it doesn't works. Is there any other way to try to solve it?
close all open applications, then open terminal and type:
defaults delete -g AppleInterfaceStyle
close terminal
reboot
It doesn't do anything, only tells me that:
2015-09-09 22:59:35.957 defaults[494:7311]
Domain (kCFPreferencesAnyApplication) not found.
Defaults have not been changed.
I think it works for all OS X right? I've El Capitan, but this problem appeared to me since first months of Yosemite.
if this is happening in El Cap you need to report to the developers forum, not here as per the EULA you agreed to with Apple when you signed up.
