Sep 9, 2015 3:34 PM in response to Nick69UKby Jonathan UK,Hi Nick
The Apple Watch Activity app charts only estimated active calories, which form the basis of your daily Move goal.
Estimated resting calories for any given day can be viewed on your iPhone in the Activity app by swiping left on the Move chart.

Sep 10, 2015 1:57 AM in response to Nick69UKby Jonathan UK,On your iPhone, in the Apple Watch app, go to: My Watch > Health.
Are each of your Birthdate, Gender, Height and Weight detailed correctly there? If not, tap on Edit to update them.

Sep 10, 2015 2:05 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Nick69UK,Hi - yes all that is set up OK. Everything appears set up and configured OK.
I was not aware that resting calories should have been listed until a colleague showed me this iPhone screen which made me realise that entry was missing.

Sep 10, 2015 2:07 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Jonathan UK,Have you tried restarting both devices?
To restart Apple Watch: Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; Drag the slider to turn off completely; Afterwards, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Sep 10, 2015 2:11 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Nick69UK,Yes restarted and reset in the past and made no difference. I can live without the resting calories, just found it strange that they are not listed..

Sep 10, 2015 2:26 AM in response to Nick69UKby Jonathan UK,Check also in the Apple Watch app: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - check that both options there are enabled.
If everything seems to be in order, try unpairing and re-pairing your Apple Watch and iPhone.
The Apple Watch app on your iPhone takes backups of your watch automatically, including a fresh one when unpairing via the app. When setting it up again after unpairing, choose to restore your Apple Watch from backup when offered the option by the Apple Watch app. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exclusions: calibration data (from Workout and Activity apps), synced playlists, cards used for Apple Pay on your watch, watch passcode.

Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Or reset and restore your iPhone (and watch) in case there is a software issue on your iPhone, following this order:
- Unpair your watch via the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Back up your iPhone (if doing so via iTunes, select "Encrypt iPhone backup" so it includes Health data).
- Reset and restore your iPhone,
- Re-pair your watch (restore it from backup, as above).

Sep 10, 2015 2:31 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Nick69UK,Hi
Thanks again for your reply. I've done that before, about three times - reset, restore, pair/unpair - nothing! I just have no resting calories - maybe I'm too active and never rest! lol

Sep 10, 2015 3:59 AM in response to Nick69UKby Jonathan UK,Have you also tried resetting your iPhone, as suggested above?
By the way, when asking questions, it is helpful to include details of any troubleshooting steps that you have already tried:

Sep 23, 2015 6:44 PM in response to Nick69UKby phonette,Just wondering whether you managed to solve the problem? I'm having the same issue.

Sep 24, 2015 1:23 AM in response to phonetteby sbono13,I'm also having the same issue. What's odd is that I used to see resting calories listed there, but it's missing now. If I look back a few months to a date where I know it used to display resting calories, it's still missing. The resting calorie estimate is obviously still being made because of the total calorie burn being displayed.

Sep 24, 2015 9:57 AM in response to Nick69UKby jazzycat,This has happened to me too. It started after I upgraded to iOS9. After that my workouts went missing from before the upgrade and my resting calories are missing. I thought at first it was because I didn't do an encrypted back up but since all of my data is still in the health app and it's appearing in the activity app I don't believe that's the case now. Resting calories/energy is now appearing in the health app since I upgraded to OS2 on the watch but they are not appearing in the activity app and my workouts are still not showing from before iOS9 upgrade in the activity app but are in the health app.

Oct 29, 2015 6:40 PM in response to Nick69UKby dmmfromwaunakee,I tried the online chat feature with Apple after the resting calories disappeared after updating my phone. They're telling me it's no longer displayed & I should feel free to give feedback. Seriously....take away a "feature" and you want my feedback? They also said I could try updating my watch, which I did & now the calories burned are significantly lower than prior to the update. I'm really losing confidence in this app which is the main reason I got the watch in the first place. Apple..you can do better!
