50GB iCloud Storage Question

I currently have the 20GB iCloud storage for $0.99/month and apple just introduced 50GB of storage for the same price. Will my account upgrade automatically to 50GB?

I'm in the same situation. I assume it'll be an automatic upgrade from 20GB - 50GB but I've been unable to find out any information about the storage upgrades on the Apple support site, all the articles seem to still be using the old iCloud storage tiers and prices.

So far the only info about the new iCloud storage tiers and pricing I've heard was the very brief mention of it at today's event. No word on when the new storage tiers and pricing will commence or if there are any special requirements, e.g. do you need to be on iOS 9/OS X 10.11 to use them or something?

Hopefully Apple will update their iCloud documentation in the next few days.

Apparently, it will change automatically at the beginning of the next billing cycle (first of the month) at the same 99 cents. So for the remainder of September we will continue to only have 20GB until we are charged again for October at which point it will change to 50GB. Additionally, downgrading to free will not do anything because since we have already paid for September we will continue to have the 20Gb even after down grading right now. And if you think you'll just immediately upgrade after a downgrade, think again because you'll be charged again for the rest of the month for which you have already paid. So for those of us already on the 20GB we will have to wait until 10/1. Unless of course you don't care about paying again then go for the down then up grade!

"The price of your current iCloud storage plan will also increase with this update. Your storage plan of 50GB will automatically renew on your current renewal date and your card on file will be charged at the new price of ₹65.00 each month until you change or cancel your plan."

this above is the email I got from icloud-services this morning, am based in South Africa and am used to paying about a dollar/ R11.99 monthly and now after reading this will probably pay R30.99... if it is true!!!!
