50GB iCloud Storage Question
I currently have the 20GB iCloud storage for $0.99/month and apple just introduced 50GB of storage for the same price. Will my account upgrade automatically to 50GB?

You would have to ask Apple that question. No one here would know.
I'm in the same situation. I assume it'll be an automatic upgrade from 20GB - 50GB but I've been unable to find out any information about the storage upgrades on the Apple support site, all the articles seem to still be using the old iCloud storage tiers and prices.
So far the only info about the new iCloud storage tiers and pricing I've heard was the very brief mention of it at today's event. No word on when the new storage tiers and pricing will commence or if there are any special requirements, e.g. do you need to be on iOS 9/OS X 10.11 to use them or something?
Hopefully Apple will update their iCloud documentation in the next few days.
Again, as indicated earlier, if you have a question for Apple, then ask Apple. They would be the ones to answer that question.
After you contact apple you should update with their response here so others can know too without having to contact them.
Called Apple. They given a date of September 16th for the change. All 20GB accounts will automatically increase to 50GB. You don't have to make any change.
Cheers.
from iCloud storage pricing - Apple Support , " If you're currently on an annual plan, you'll continue to renew annually at that rate":
I am still seeing 20GB as my storage after upgrade to iOS9. Any Suggestions on how the storage will be upgraded to 50GB plan for the current users?
Thank you in advance.
im still waiting for my 20gb to go up to 50gb.. i hope we dont have to upgrade to ios9 to get this!!!!!!!
Apparently, it will change automatically at the beginning of the next billing cycle (first of the month) at the same 99 cents. So for the remainder of September we will continue to only have 20GB until we are charged again for October at which point it will change to 50GB. Additionally, downgrading to free will not do anything because since we have already paid for September we will continue to have the 20Gb even after down grading right now. And if you think you'll just immediately upgrade after a downgrade, think again because you'll be charged again for the rest of the month for which you have already paid. So for those of us already on the 20GB we will have to wait until 10/1. Unless of course you don't care about paying again then go for the down then up grade!
My 20 GB plan was updated to 50GB around 9pm last night automatically. I did not change any settings. Thank you.
That's great. I certainly hope I won't have to wait till the next billing cycle!
All,
I have annual plan for 20GB for $10.99 and it got renewed last month as of Aug 8th,
Can you suggest, when can I get upgraded to 50GB?
KKinIndy, I am assuming you have monthly plan. It's good that you got upgraded automatically.
Thank you
You are correct - I had the .99 cent a month 20GB plan.
"The price of your current iCloud storage plan will also increase with this update. Your storage plan of 50GB will automatically renew on your current renewal date and your card on file will be charged at the new price of ₹65.00 each month until you change or cancel your plan."
this above is the email I got from icloud-services this morning, am based in South Africa and am used to paying about a dollar/ R11.99 monthly and now after reading this will probably pay R30.99... if it is true!!!!
Mine did update some time yesterday, pity a day too late for me to upload 33GB worth of iPhone photos and videos before my road trip...
