Sep 10, 2015 1:39 PM in response to edmnottmby Linc Davis,Start up in Recovery mode. In the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch.
Test. After testing, restart as usual and post the results.

Sep 10, 2015 1:39 PM in response to edmnottmby Carolyn Samit,It's not your Mac. Apple is aware that some of their support pages are not rendering correctly. They're working on it.

Sep 10, 2015 2:23 PM in response to Linc Davisby edmnottm,Thank you for your replies.
On clicking on the "Recovery" link you posted the link would not load and in view of the reply from Carolyn Samit I think I should wait and see if Apple resolves this issue, hopefully in the not too distant future, but I am not holding my breath!.
I must say that I wonder if I should have stayed with a PC instead of changing to a Mac. I had Windows 7 in boot camp, upgraded to Windows 10 via the "Get Windows" app resulting in the Mac crashing and having to use Time Machine back up to restore my mac, after which, seemed to have caused problems in Windows 7 I had installed and eventually having to uninstall it and not able to reinstall either Windows 7 or being able to install Windows 10. I have not had any problems upgrading on my Windows laptop. Very disillusioned.

Sep 10, 2015 2:26 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby edmnottm,Thank you for your reply. On "Googling" my problem I saw no reference at all that Apple were aware of this issue. Where did you get this information from?

Sep 10, 2015 3:20 PM in response to Linc Davisby edmnottm,I have just downloaded Firefox browser and Apple support links work OK, but still don't with Safari so if they work in Safari on your Mac I assume my Safari browser may have been corrupted but cannot find out how to uninstall Safari and then reinstall it.

Sep 10, 2015 3:24 PM in response to edmnottmby Linc Davis,What happened when you tested in Recovery mode?
-
Sep 10, 2015 3:35 PM in response to Linc Davisby edmnottm,I haven't tried that yet. As a fairly new Mac user I am a bit apprehensive of doing it especially in view of what Caolyn Samit has stated. Would living in the UK have any bearing?

Sep 10, 2015 3:58 PM in response to edmnottmby Linc Davis,Merely booting in Recovery mode and launching Safari won't change anything at all, no matter where you are. It's just a test. I'm not suggesting that you do anything else while in Recovery.
