Q: New iPhone form old computer to new

Ok so I'm sure this question has been asked a lot but I can't seem to find the exact answer for my weird situation.
So I'll try to explain:

I've been using a 2008 MacBook Pro to sync with an iPhone 4G for a few years and my computer was getting slow and full so I got a 2011 MacBook Pro and ahhhhh so much room. (I still have been syncing to the old computer though) Well my iphone started to get slow and full too so I got an iPhone 6 a month ago and have been having to sync my itunes through my old macbook because I can't seem to get it to sync with my new laptop without losing my old music etc.
I finally was able to move my old itunes (via external HD) from my old macbook to my new one.

I want to, now, sync my new computer with my new iphone now that I have all my old music on my new computer.

I don't see an option to Sync as a new phone.

I plug my new phone into my new computer and hit sync, it says that it's syncing but anything that I've recently added to my my new computer (new audiobooks) won't be uploaded on my new iphone.

*Side Note: when syncing with my old computer, there would be 5 steps it would go through form start to finish but now when I sync on my new computer it only does 3 steps. If that makes ANY sense.

If I click "Restore iPhone" will that do it?

I'm so bad at explaining the situations I'm in, I hope someone can understand enough to help me.

Thank you for reading

Kristina

Kristina, take a look at this article. You do not want to Restore iPhone until you have read the material below.

    Thank you for your reply!!

I transferred my old contents to my new computer using the external HD and now all my old music is on my new computer BUT some of my albums won't play as it says something about how it's not authorized to play ___ song and asks me to enter my itunes password. When I do, it tells me this computer has already been authorized but it still won't play that certain song.

Is there a way around that?

    Hi

Since ios 7 almost everything can be done over your WiFi .

I don't know why people keep using pc for iPhone / iPad .

We have 2 iPhones & 3 iPads and haven't used our PC for them

For over  2 years never had a problem .

    Just use  WiFi .

    Cheers

Kristina, not sure about this but it seems to me that this has to do with music "rights". Are these albums that you purchased through the iTunes Store? If so they belong to you and you should be able to use them under the same Apple ID / PW you purchased them with. At least that is my understanding. If these albums were indeed purchased by you and you are using the same ID / PW, you could try deleting them and re-downloading them from the iTunes Store. I know this works within one computer, not sure since you moved from one to another but my understanding again is that if you properly transferred your original iTunes Library using the instructions provided by Apple (which I linked above) that it should work that way. Please try and if you please let me know....  Good luck...

Ok here's what happened with the "rights". Back when I first signed up for itunes I had an AOL account. At some point several years ago they made me change my email and merge to my yahoo account so I'd have to use my yahoo email to sign in to everything apple related. Well I guess it never merged the songs I bought with that aol account. So the songs that wouldn't play were songs I bought through aol. I signed in using the aol account and it authorized my new computer. Now all my songs play and my new laptop now works with my new phone!!

Thank you for your help!! Makes life so much easier.

    Thanks again
