Q: iTunes keeps removing album artwork over and over
When I first downloaded the latest iTunes, version 12, I lost most of my album artwork on my iPhone but not on my Mac Mini. I was sad because the album artwork helps me to quickly find the album I'm looking for.
I then purchased a new iPhone, and when my music was synched, all the artwork came back to the new iPhone. I was happy about that one! The artwork has been on my iPhone for about a month.
This morning, I noticed that most my artwork has now vanished again! Now I am sad again. I didn't do anything other than the normal iPhone synch. No new iTunes download. No changes in anything else that I'm aware of.
Does anyone know why iTunes keeps removing my album artwork on my iPhone? Is there a way to prevent the artwork from getting removed? The artwork is present still on my Mac Mini, but gone on my iPhone. (So using the "find album artwork" does not help.)
I called Apple Support, and they recommended to use iTunes Match, but I am not wanting to pay $24.95 per year just to get my artwork to show up in my iPhone. I'm hoping that there is a way to fix without paying yearly ransom
I have a brand new Mac Mini running Yosemite OS X, and a brand new iPhone 6 running iOS 8.4.1. I have a lot of albums that are CDs that I imported, it looks like these are the albums that are missing artwork. The stuff that I've purchased through apple store seems to be OK, it still has the artwork.
Sure would appreciate help if anyone knows the answer. Maybe this one is a bug that hasn't been addressed yet.
Thank you !
iPhone 6, iOS 8.4.1
