Did Apple discontinue pre-sales chat? Phone numbers from abroad?

1. With the redesign of the website I can't find the pre-sales chat option around the shopping cart. Is it discontinued, perhaps? I want to ask the sipping size and weight of a product box.

2. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201232

I am abroad and can access a VoIP phone, so no 800 numbers. Also, even if I am not in the US now, I want to access Apple in the US, that is still my home country, right? any chance Apple have a non 800 version of their number, to be accessed from abroad.

Ps. Hearing or vision impaired

I wonder how a phone number for the hearing impaired works. Can I, as a language learner perhaps use that?

Either way, my pre-sales question would fit better for a short chat, no misunderstandings.

  1. CHAT: It will be available IF Apple choses to offer it for its sales effort - pre-orders start on the stated dates
  2. Abroad: Sales are now initiated from the Product Info pages for your country - drill down from the links in the Header on every page

PS: Not likely helpful learning English

My country is still not listed. Anyways, if I have a US shipping address, why should I be physically present in the US on the time of an online purchase in today's interconnected world?

Bad logic.

The point is, most companies of significance you have to deal with, or just deal with, maintain a call from abroad number, which is not a 800 number which you can only call from in country, but from anywhere, including from the middle of the ocean via satellite and VoIP providers.

Why should I connect to a totally unrelated country's customer service (in what language, language proficiency and familiarity with my home country's peculiarities on the part of the agents?), not my home country, even when traveling or abroad? Sometimes it might make sense, but not always.

Someone could tell this to someone in charge of the matter at Apple. Thank you.
