Sep 11, 2015 8:17 AM in response to slm437by GFXZen,How did you delete your preferences? Did you just drag the preference file to the trash, or did you use the keyboard shortcut, holding command-option when you launch Motion?

Sep 11, 2015 8:46 AM in response to GFXZenby slm437,I used both methods. Neither made any difference
I used the drag to trash method when doing the full uninstall/reinstall.
followed the procedures to uninstall outlined on the apple website here:
Motion 5.1: Troubleshooting basics - Apple Support
although I'm using Motion 5.2 and Yosemite

Sep 11, 2015 5:53 PM in response to slm437by GFXZen,Sorry, just want to make sure I understand, you have conflicting info in your posts.
You are on 10.10.? for the OS (not mavericks) and you are running Motion 5.2, not 5.2.2 that just released? When you re-download, you should be getting the current version, 5.2.2. Do you have Motion on multiple partitions?

Sep 12, 2015 10:09 AM in response to GFXZenby slm437,apologies for the conflict - forgot that the board automatically adds the OS info and I didn't update it.
I'm running OS 10.10.5
and Motion 5.2.2 - although the problem first occurred when I was using 5.2.1 - I was hoping the update might fix it. when it didn't I did a full uninstall/reinstall of Motion 5.2.2
