Q: HUD won't stay closed or in place

Even if I close the HUD it opens right back up as soon as I click anywhere. Also if I move it to a different part of the screen as soon as I click on something it pops right back to the spot where it opened.

This did not used to happen.

Very annoying as it sits over my layers window.

I'm also noticing that I can no longer select a preset - whether it's an existing one or one that I create. All of the checkboxes beside the presets remain unchecked even when I click on them.

I've trashed prefs and done a complete uninstall and reinstall and the problem remains.

How did you delete your preferences?  Did you just drag the preference file to the trash, or did you use the keyboard shortcut, holding command-option when you launch Motion?

I used both methods. Neither made any difference

I used the drag to trash method when doing the full uninstall/reinstall.

followed the procedures to uninstall outlined on the apple website here:

although I'm using Motion 5.2 and Yosemite

Sorry, just want to make sure I understand, you have conflicting info in your posts.

You are on 10.10.? for the OS (not mavericks) and you are running Motion 5.2, not 5.2.2 that just released? When you re-download, you should be getting the current version, 5.2.2. Do you have Motion on multiple partitions?

apologies for the conflict - forgot that the board automatically adds the OS info and I didn't update it.

    I'm running OS 10.10.5

and Motion 5.2.2 - although the problem first occurred when I was using 5.2.1 - I was hoping the update might fix it. when it didn't I did a full uninstall/reinstall of Motion 5.2.2
