Some people want more control over their cookies. You can choose whichever you wish. Cookies will not harm your computer. They just allow capturing, on your computer, your browsing history and activities. Cookies are what allow sites to remember who you are, what you purchased online in the past, session variables, your location if you provided it, etc. These cookies reside on your computer and are readable by the site that put the cookie on your computer. Some people don't want the convenience provided by cookies or they want to be anonymous on the web. You can choose either way.
